5 Great Getaways with the Girls
If you’re like me, you love getting away with your gal pals. But where to go? These five ideas will get your wanderlust heart dreaming!
1. Get Pampered in Cancun
Sun, sand, and unlimited alcohol, Cancun is a great, budget friendly option for you and your gal pals. With something for everyone, this destination hosts luxurious room options, local historical sites like Chichen Itza, rich local artisan crafts and wares and is abundant in wildlife including sea turtles, koaty, crocodiles, snakes and even iguanas (though I’ve only actually seen 4 out of 5 of those, even though crocodiles hung out in the mangroves just opposite our last resort).
2. Sail the Greek Islands
Grab 7 of your closest gal pals and head out to sail around the Greek Islands by chartering a yacht through companies like G Adventures. That’s right! Crystal clear waters, Mediterranean food and a captain who knows all the best nooks and crannies to visit along the island’s coasts.
3. Party it up in New Orleans
Quirky, vibrant, energetic, and a world unlike any other, why not visit the heart of Louisiana in New Orleans. Cajun cooking, Beignets, a bigger than life attitude and a music scene that just won’t quite, New Orleans has a little something for everyone. While you’re down there, consider a swamp tour by air boat to see some of the local...inhabitants...in their natural surroundings or maybe a visit to one of the Plantation sites to learn about slavery in the South.
4. Christmas Market River Cruise
Thought River Cruises were for when you were older? Think again my friend! River Cruising has been building an appeal with youthful audiences lately and one of best is with Uniworld on their U itineraries. Visit Hungary, Vienna and Germany as you travel along the Danube, visiting some of the world’s most festive Christmas Markets. Boats feature Silent Disco, Rooftop Yoga, Paint & Wine, Mixology Class, Rooftop BBQ, Karaoke and even unlimited WiFi!
5. Rent a Villa in Tuscany
Looking to add some sophistication to your girls’ getaway? Look no further than Tuscany. Visit gorgeous cities like Florence or Siena. Take a road trip (perhaps a ride on a Vespa is on your bucket list?) visiting local vineyards and sampling some of the best wines Italy has to offer. And of course it’s a foodie’s dream location with pasta and seafood and of course, oh so tasty gelato. Plus the area is home to 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites. And if all that isn’t enough, you’ve got miles of coastline to visit, sunbathe on or swim in. It’s truly a great option for any girls' getaway.
No matter your budget and no matter how many girlfriend’s you can corral onto the plane, I’d love to help you plan your next trip to get away and celebrate your friendship.
